About Me
I am a Computer Science Engineering student at the University of Michigan, set to graduate in May 2024.
I am a game programmer and designer of the WolverineSoft Studio, a 30-50 student multidisciplinary, long term video game development team at the University of Michigan. In addition, I am a student game developer at the School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan. The experience of my players is my number one priority. I work with artists, musicians, audio engineers, UX designers, and level designers to create the best possible games.
Game Programmer
My responsibility as a game programmer is to design, build, and test systems that create the game. Since these systems will be used by people of many disciplines and background, I coordinate close with artists, level designers, and audio engineers to ensure that these systems are robust and easy to use, and adjust them to better suit their needs. To satisfy the needs of my team, I communicate with them early and often and structure my code with the potential to make the necessary changes.
Meeting Manager
As the Meeting Manager for WolverineSoft, my responsibility is to ensure that the weekly WolverineSoft meetings are filled with interesting, engaging, and useful content. My priority is to satisfy both casual enthusiasts as well as aspiring game developers. I structure my talks to be about practical lessons and concepts that game developers need while keeping the meeting as interactive as I can. The topics of these talks include: scoping, game literacy, accessibility, and team management.
Engineer
My formal education as an Engineer gives me the tools I need to solve problems. By drawing upon both my in-depth knowledge of computer science, my experience in technical communication, and my broad college-level knowledge of mathematics and physics, I’m able to find effective and unique solutions to the problems I face every day. This background enhances my ability to approach problems from many perspectives and create solutions that satisfy the needs of the project and of my interdisciplinary team.
Gamer
Video games have been a large part of my life as long as I can remember. My childhood is filled with memories of being hit by blue shells in Mario Kart, hanging off the side of a train in Uncharted, or defeating Dr. Robitnik’s latest contraption in Sonic the Hedgehog. Video games have the ability to bring joy, strengthen friendships, and take us through meaningful experiences. I want to create the experiences that will the next generation of gamers will grow up on.
