My responsibilities

  • Program the game’s systems, including the driving mechanics, passenger system, scoring system, NPC AI, and navigation systems.

  • Create sprites for the game’s open world.

What went right

  • Successful in creating the intended gameplay experience, a chaotic scramble to get as many points as possible.

  • Game was intuitive for most players, requiring minimal text and no in person explaining.

  • Successful in creating an MVP within 4 hours of development

  • Iterated on playtesting feedback to create a better experience.

What went wrong

  • Spent most development time on art assets, leaving less time for art, juice, audio, or additional mechanics.

  • Noticeable bugs and presentation issues appear in the final build.

  • Lack of clear art direction or polish.

Lessons Learned

  • Create a minimum viable product before any other game assets.

  • Playtesting feedback is essential for a good game.

  • Team members with different skill sets are valuable.
