Design a fun and interesting game with minimal scope
Create the game’s interlocking systems, including UI, enemy AI, card selection, and overall gameplay.
Handle the game’s building and itch.io submission,
What went right
Successful in creating the intended gameplay experience, requiring the use of strategy and synergy to be successful.
Final product had strong art direction, animation, and juice, and integration of art assets was successful.
Used playtesting to improve the game significantly.
What went wrong
Final product had a difficulty curve that many players felt was too steep.
Overscoped and was forced to cut a lot of planned features.
Issues with version control costed hours of development time.
No audio or sound effects were implemented.
Lessons learned
Don’t use Google Drive as a version control solution.
Spend more time testing the difficulty curve.
Save time for audio and sound effects.
